The Nashville Peace and Justice Center is hosting a free screening of the documentary, Prisoner of Rangoon, on Sunday night, February 24. It will be shown at Cafe Outloud at 1707 Church Street at 7:00 p.m.
Details: The Prisoner of Rangoon is a thirty minute television documentary about the life of Aung San Suu Kyi, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize while still under house arrest. Kyi has spent most of the past two decades imprisoned by the military junta in Burma. Kyi was elected as the popular leader of Burma before her imprisonment.
A panel discussion will follow with Win Myint and the most venerable Ashin Panna concerning recent human rights events in Burma. For more information call Chris at 593-0304.
