Four big Buddhist groups share stage at open house
|
| The four major Nashville Buddhist groups are at one with each other. Well, at least under one roof.
The 12 South Dharma Center will host an open house today from 1 to 4 p.m. showcasing each of the four groups that call the new center home since it opened June 1.
At 2301 12th Ave. S., the Center is shared by Alana Dhyana, One Dharma Nashville, the Nashville Zen Center and Shambhala Nashville.
The rent also is shared among the groups, which meet to meditate on different days of the week.
Sharon Safer, the director of the 12 South Dharma Center, said the center represents a much-needed step forward for Nashville’s Buddhist community.
“There has been a lack of dedicated space for Nashville’s Buddhist groups, or the spaces have been too small to allow them to grow,” Safer |
| “It has been my dream and vision to have a dedicated practice center for education and community growth.” |
