Next Monday, September 1 is Labor Day, so One Dharma won’t meet for meditation. We do have several new things in the works, however. We are going to start a dharma study group beginning Saturday September 6 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 or so. Tea will be available. The exact format and frequency of this meeting is still being tweaked, but the general focus will be on a dharma topic of interest that can be examined in more depth than time allows on Monday nights. You are welcome to join us! We hope these discussions will be stimulating and will offer support for regular dharma practice. Thanks to Joshua Huetting for getting the ball rolling on this.
We are also planning to start a once-monthly practice night that will be aimed at newer meditators. There will be increased focus on practice issues and challenges, with adequate time for those attending to ask questions about their practice, to discuss their experiences and receive guidance. We haven’t yet decided whether to schedule the meeting for Wednesday or Thursday nights, although we’re leaning toward Wednesdays. Senior One Dharma meditators will rotate facilitation of this meeting.
Starting next Thursday, September 4, there will be a 12South Dharma Center weekly meditation at 7 – 7:30 a.m. This will be a simple 30 minute sit, and won’t be specific to any group at the center. All are welcome.
Our Eightfold Path discussion will resume on Monday, September 8.
