It’s not free, but this workshop may offer participants an opportunity to learn more about mindfulness or strengthen an existing practice.
Vanderbilt Center for Integrative Health to offer ‘Practicing Mindfulness: The Master Skill for Happiness’ workshop beginning Sept. 9 |
Mindfulness is a way of relating directly to whatever is happening in your life, meeting your experience skillfully and with an open heart. Mindfulness training is an antidote to the habitual response patterns that lock us into routines that undermine emotional and physical health. |
When: The workshop consists of six 1.5-hour instruction/discussion/guided practice class sessions on Tuesdays, from 5:30-7 p.m., starting Sept. 9 and running through Oct. 14. |
Location: 3401 West End Ave., Suite 380W, just a few blocks from the Vanderbilt campus. You can view a map and directions at www.VCIH.org. |
Instructors: Gordon Peerman, D.Min. and Kathy Woods, M.Ed. |

Gordon and Kathy are great teachers so I wouldn’t want to do anything to reduce the numbers in the “not free” class. However, I know they are great teachers because they lead a meditation on Wednesday at 5:15 in the All Faiths Chapel (across from mellow mushroom). You can leave dana in the bowl if you wish.
