Please join us for a weekend of meditation at a beautiful, wooded retreat site near Nashville. As winter approaches and daylight wanes, there is a natural inclination to slow down and turn inward. Yet, in the busyness of the holiday season we may forget that true refuge is right where we are. This silent retreat will focus on accessing our steady minds and open hearts. We will cultivate a quality of compassionate presence that embraces our experience with equanimity and insight. Through these practices we begin to dissolve the illusion separateness and taste the joy of the heart’s true refuge.

Led by meditation teacher Lisa Ernst, this silent retreat is suitable for newer as well as experienced meditators. It will include sitting and walking meditation, instructions, dharma talks and q&a. Retreat fee includes lodging and all meals

The three night option is $240 if paid in full by 10/19; after $265. The five night option is $395 if paid by 10/19; after $425. A $100 deposit will reserve your spot. Please indicate if you will be attending the three or five night option. There will be a separate opportunity to make a dana (generosity) offering to the teacher at the retreat. Please join us at a beautiful, wooded retreat site just outside of Nashville for this three or seven night spring renewal retreat. Life is a balance of effort and letting go. Meditation practice gives us tools to be present, to work with our minds and to uncover the heart’s true wisdom. This wisdom also points the way to letting go — remembering that the practice is not only to help us solve problems but to enter deeply into the great mystery of life and death.

Lisa Ernst is a meditation teacher in the Thai Forest lineage of Ajahn Chah, Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman. She is the founder of One Dharma Nashville. In her teaching, Lisa emphasizes both transformational insight and everyday awakening as an invitation to embrace all of the path’s possibilities. The dharma offers a pathway to discover equanimity, freedom and compassion. Through cultivating a wise heart, we come to know what it means to awaken in the midst of our life, to be deeply intimate with the totality of our experience.

This silent retreat will foster a quality of compassionate presence that opens the heart and dissolves the illusion of separation. It will include sitting and walking meditation, instructions, lovingkindness practice and optional meetings with the teacher. The retreat is appropriate for newer as well as experienced meditators.

Retreat cost is $190 if paid in full by Monday, November 4. After, the cost is  $215. A reduced fee spot is available if you need financial assistance. Please inquire for rates. Attendance for all three days is required. There will be a separate opportunity at the retreat to make a dana offering (donation) to the teacher.

Lisa Ernst is the founder and guiding teacher at One Dharma Nashville. She began meditation practice in the late ’80′s in the Zen Buddhist tradition, studying closely with two Rinzai Zen  Masters and attending numerous mediation retreats. Lisa has also studied and practiced in the Theravada tradition since the late 90′s. She has been teaching since 2005 and was given dharma transmission from Trudy Goodman in 2010.
